[The video is jostled and seemingly accidental. There's a Mudkip and a Shieldon fussing with it. It's hard to tell, but they seem either excited or frantic. Steve isn't in sight, neither is Grace or Amber, who are always with the man.

It only lasts a moment before the Shieldon headbutts the device and ending the video in static.]

[About thirty minutes later, a text message comes up on the network.]

Wher human centr? Yong 1s upset, amber lef, sam down. Need joy.

((OOC: Grace is using text and will likely reply sparingly. So I'm not ignoring responses, she just ignores what she doesn't understand or doesn't like. Also very typo'd, she's still learning to read and write human.))

Good. [That relaxes him a little, knowing Steve's reacting favorably.]

One of the others is Sazh-- he's the eldest of all of us. [Well, physically and mentally anyway.] He has a son whom I'd only met after the Fall. Sazh though, we'd crossed paths once before becoming a l'Cie-- strange, isn't it? He had been the airship pilot for a school trip of mine though, so we didn't have any interaction.

Apparently he'd bought his son a pet chocobo chick-- a bird, essentially-- just before the problem with the fal'Cie and it continued to stay with him throughout the whole ordeal.

It usually sat in his hair, though it would come out at times. Once, in Gran Pulse, he'd been the one to lead us to a flock of Pulsian chocobos because apparently he knew the smell of them just by having the chick around all the time. And he may have either become immune or used to the smell thanks to the chick because the smell of a chocobo, Pulsian or Cocoon, is just downright terrible.

Even I cant take it for long periods of time, and I had had to use them as transportation for Academy business.

Ha, no. Chocobo have down and feathers, not steel wings. However, their bodies are so large as adults that they're no longer able to fly the way they did when they were chicks. So they walk around on their two feet.

And they're intelligent. I tend to see them as the most intelligent animals in our world, because they're able to understand human speech and even attempt their own ways of communicating with us-- Sazh's chick certainly had a lot to say and react to various situations.

Ah, unfortunately sometimes not all birds can be as smart.

Though I do envy them sometimes-- they can be up there in the sky. Using the move Fly can only do so much when you're on the back of a Pokémon. You just don't have wings on your own, so you cant feel it for yourself, especially when it's a good day and you're under the sun.

Being free to be under the sky and the sun is probably why I like birds. Similarly, I may just like the sky and sun as well.

[Oh no Hope are you going on a tangent.]

Though speaking of sun... one day we should just go to the beach again, in Olivine. This world is hectic and we would all benefit from a break. All of us.

And well, Olivine at least does have a lot of good memories all around, right? As we did first meet there, Steve. It should be good for us. [... Aaaand he pauses and blinks, because he's just gotten a realization. Because yes, it's a realization that he's probably blurted out something he had told himself he'd not say till he himself had gotten it figured out.]

We'll have to see about that. It's not my house after all.
