[Steve is sitting in the shade of a tree wearing a normal outfit (not his uniform), he's holding an Eevee in his arms, who is softly crying, and has a Lucario sitting next to him looking rather perplexed at the Eevee. Steve looks like he's a little unsure about this]

Grace evolved earlier today, I was a bit concerned about how long it was taking, but she does things at her own pace. [the Lucario looks at Steve and nods in agreement] It was really amazing, I didn't think she'd wind up being so big. No more carrying her around, though she's already picked me up and carried me around. [he chuckles as Grace puffs her chest out proudly]

The problem is Amber hasn't stopped crying and shying away from Grace since. I was thinking she was scared of her, but no, after some charades, I figured out she's really upset because she wants to evolve too. [the Eevee heaves something that is best described as a sob, leaning away from Grace, who is trying to comfort her with some pets]

I want her to meet more of her evolutions before she decides what she wants to be. She's met a number of Espeon's, but none of the others yet. Is anyone willing to humor us and let her at least meet more of her evolutions, even if it's just through video?

I suppose they all have their little quirks. I have three Eevee evolutions after all, and they're all different. Also...

[sticks the Gear among his Eeveelutions and disappears off-camera. He can be heard yelling 'Lucky! Lucky, here girl!'

Pounding of giant paws on (reinforced) hardwood floor.

A noise from Hope that very clearly means 'oh shit' even if he doesn't say it.

And a flash of red, yellow and black in the camera accompanied by the thud of two bodies hitting the floor, before everything is still again and the derpface of an Arcanine can be seen from the Eeveelutions' perch. With some laughter from the Umbreon.]

See? [Hope's voice is muffled. Yep, she's lying on him.] Affectionate.

Oh, well, at least other people were able to help. I'm glad.

Yeah, that's not going to help him evolve.

[Tanuki takes one look at Amber before leaping out of Tenten's arms and rubbing his cheek affectionately against the 'gear. As if Amber's distress wasn't already obvious, to the Psychic type it's even plainer, leaving him trying to project calming waves through the 'gear.

Does that even work? He's going to try it anyway. Unfortunately it leaves Tenten's own voice pretty muffled behind him.]

Tanu-- ugh. Anyway, you think it's because Grace evolved?

[John's laughing a little when he turns on the feed, his Lampent peering almost eagerly over his shoulder.]

I see Rose got a hold of you already, making anything I had to say on the subject even more useless than it already was since I don't have my Umbreon with me right now and there are no PCs in Mount Moon. So Chandel and I will just offer you and Grace our congratulations instead.

[At that, Chandel chimes in loudly, flailing her arms a little. SHe is so happy for you, Grace. You are basically an adult and also big and strong and go you.]

[Amber gives Steve a pathetic look, as if asking him to make this all in person and not through the tiny device, but before he can respond, she nuzzles the gear wanting to return the affection. Not sure the waves actually make it, but Amber isn't as distressed as she was a second ago.

Steve chuckles and does his best to talk with the trainer with two Pokemon now in the way]

It's the only thing that's different about today.

Sounds like a phase. The grass is always greener and all that shit. What's wrong with sticking with what she is? Maybe if she turns into something else she won't like it, and then she's stuck.

[Tanuki just settles there in front of the 'gear, absently rubbing his face against the screen.]

I've never had any problem with something like that... then again, I have a lot of Pokémon. They all get to see each other evolve... some of mine don't evolve at all, like Feng, my Skarmory. I guess it makes for a good balance...?

Yes, she's been a great help.

[He pulls Amber to the side so Grace can get back into the picture, getting super excited to see her friend]

[Grace makes a pleased sound, looking a bit unsure of it after, not used to how her voice has changed yet, but waves at Chandel all the same]

Your optimism is refreshing.

She will just have to live with her decisions, whatever she chooses.

I hear that a lot.

The real point is, what type does your team need?

I could really use Grass or Psychic.

Strategically, I should choose for her, pick the best for the team and what compliments her strengths, but it's still her choice. She's the one who has to live with it when I leave.

[Amber paws softly at the screen, nuzzling it every so often]

Grace wasn't the first Pokemon she saw evolve, but they've been pretty close, I think she just really wants to evolve too, but she's not ready. She just doesn't see it that way.

It does balance. With my Lapras, I don't have to take in consideration her evolutionary needs, just train her for how she is now. Not that it's a bother, just it makes things simpler. Unlike an Eevee.

[ruffles Amber's fluff, she ignores him for Tanuki]

[Steve and Amber watch curiously until he returns under an Arcanine. Steve is chuckling at the entire scene]

That fits the bill. Looks like she is quite happy using you as a pillow.

[Grace moves to look at the screen, rolling her eyes and slipping away again, while Amber chirps happily at the huge puppy]

You have any plans on how to get out of here?

She'll get over it. You're supposed to be the one calling the shots, not some dog.

[There's an affronted canine noise, and the screen pans down to show a Snubbull looking annoyed.]

I wasn't talking about you, Steve.

[Was offended for like two seconds til he learns that the Pokemon's name is Steve too, now he's chuckling]

[The little pink dog waves.]

Very happy, actually. [He cant shove her off because she's nearly double the weight a scrawny engineer can carry, but he can crawl out from under her instead.

So he does, making an attempt to flatten his hair while Lucky attempts to give him big slobbery kisses.]

Anyway, where were we?

I'm not sure I've heard of a Lapras before... there's so many different kinds of Pokémon, I feel like an Academy kid learning about animals all over again.

[Tanuki keeps trying to send out those soothing psychic waves, standing up and circling around the 'gear as if that might help before returning and planting his paws on the screen. A plaintive look back at his trainer -- can't she see this Pokémon called Grace needs him? Why aren't they actually there? Tenten just sighs.]
