[the view, which seems to be of patch of grass, is jostling around, tapping as well as a muffled curse] ...probably Stark technology. [the camera jostles everywhere as the man turns it around in his hands] Wait, Stark's name isn't on it, can't be his. What Stark would miss the chance to plaster his name everywhere.

[the camera moves around some more, mostly catching glimpses of the ground and a building, the man huffs] Do you know how this works?

[a pokemon makes a negative sounding "ri" before the camera moves again, catching a glimpse of sky but then is obscured by a thumb] Yeah, me neither.

Seems to be on. [moves his thumb, a man with short, tidy, blond hair and curious blue eyes comes into view, his blue top fits perfectly to his muscles, but is otherwise unmarked] Is that the len- This is one of those video phone gadgets.

Okay, so best guess is someone can or will see this, so does anyone know what or where this place is? What century is it? Because it seems more like I slept into a few centuries this time, I mean I have my little blue companion with me, so it's not all bad, but I just want to know where I woke up this time. Because this isn't Kansas.

[feed goes black with a muttered 'oops']

There's a store that's not too far from here that's got things for Pokémon on offer, it might have something to doodle with too. It's that or wait till you get to the next town and try your luck there.

[Pep claps her paws together then looks at Tony excitedly at the prospect of being drawn, wow her young little life is getting exciting.]

[Grins at Pep, then turns to nod at Tony]

And she's not making me soft, she's soft enough for both of us. Surprisingly, I'm a whole less challenging when I'm not being ordered around, and my planet isn't in danger. Besides, it's a nice day and I don't have any meetings.

She's soft enough for even Schmidt to 'aw' at. And this place does have a great deal less stress than everything we just dealt with.

[Looks up at the sky, taking in how nice it is, then looks back at Tony]

Would you like me to, Mr Stark? Call you Tony?

[Steve raises an eyebrow playfully]

[Tony raises an eyebrow back, looking a little confused at the question for a very short second.]

Well, I wouldn't have brought it up if I didn't want it.

When you start calling me Steve, I'll call you Tony. Til then, how about I just drop the Mister?

[He blinks then thinks, nope. He's never said Steve's name in Steve's presence.]

[smirks at Tony and nods]

Glad we settled that then.

And the boys and I used to joke that he was the cherry on top of the war. Made even better when we found his main base in the Alps.

[chuckles, though there is a slight melancholy under it]

Yeah, that's really going to make the whole cherry joke. Hilarious.

[He eyes him for a second, then pushes his drink in front of him.]

You know, they have some strange fruit here, not an evil German cherry, kind of strange. But still kind of tasty. With a good tang too.

[Tony isn't good with his own feelings, so instead of trying to say something to Steve about a feeling he wouldn't understand. He chose to try and pull that meloncholy away in a different way.]

Not bad, strange like you said, but I like it.

How is the food around here?

Not exactly Nobu. But then, I was always a fan of street food anyway. It's good.

But then, I'm not exactly going to start asking questions about where the meat comes from. Seeing as the only cow I've seen was with a trainer.

[pauses to think about that, then looks at Grace, who seems clueless to the topic at hand]

Good plan, about not asking, because I don't want to know if I'm eating something cute.

Really? Because cows, chicken, and ducks are cute to me.... Maybe not fish.

[He shrugs and drinks more from his glass.]

Never eaten duck, so. But cows can be cute, but I was eating beef before I even knew what one looked like, so.

Kind of made it easier than knowing how cute it is before even eating it.

Well yeah, when I was a kid, knowing something was cute did kind of make not not too hungry. You'd be surprised how eating hot dogs restores your faith in eating meat. No one ever thinks cute with a hot dog.

[He glances at Pep for a moment.]

Yeah. Everything here, I'm just thinking hot dog.

When I was a kid, you ate whatever you got, didn't matter what it was, just so long as it was something to eat.

Hard to shake that, so I rather just not know the specifics here.

[pats Grace on the head, who straightens up to seek more contact]

Definitely rather not know.

When I was a kid, I was lucky to have a penny a week. And steak was closer to 22 cents.

So, anything been explained to you here?

Well, I'm in Johto and Kanto is a three day ferry ride, that its a different world or universe completely, that its relatively the same time period, that my first Pokemon is called a Starter, and that my girl here will be quite a bit bigger and just as lovely when she evolves, with the possibility of learning human speech.

And everything else you've taught me. People were quite eager to reply to my first video.

Not all pokémon evolve though. My starter doesn't, for one.

And to make them stronger, we pit them against others. And even go into gyms to earn badges to test their skills and our teaching.

[It's obvious from how he's talking he's been reading about it more than being told by someone else.]

So, you have your Pokemon fight one another, like wild and other trainers, or just other trainers? And then you go to gyms to test out how well we're raising them? Well, that sounds like most every sport I've watched.

And what was your starter? Is it common for them not to evolve?

Wild, trainees, anyone with a Pokemon can be challenged from what I can tell. When you win against gym leaders they give a badge, like an awkward kind of boy scouts of America thing. Get 8 from one region you can battle the top four trainers of the place. So yeah, a lot like sports.

[Finishing his drink, Tony digs into his jeans pocket and pulls out a small ball, taping the centre it gross and then he casually tosses it and the large steal bird comes out with a trill then just stares at Steve and Grace.]
He's a Skarmory. Just a big metal bird. Normally starters evolve, but they don't have to. She just doesn't have an evolutionary path. Her name's Dummy 2.0.

Well, if this is all a sport, we should start training.

[looks at the new arrival, raising his eyebrows at the strange creature, Grace scoots to hid behind Steve's arm more, never taking her eyes off Dummy 2.0]

She's stunning. And suits you perfectly. And, that ball, how do you make them work. Grace wasn't in the ball I have, but I know it's her's.

[He looks at Dummy as she gets bored of staring at Steve, then starts groom herself.]

Training is probably going to be one of those, good ideas alright.

And you're right. She meet's my requirements, she can fly and she looks iron but isn't. Not that I can even use her to fly until I get the right Gym badge or something like that.

[He looks down at the ball. Then tosses it in the air a few times.]

To change its size, you just press the button once.

[He does so, making it small then big again.]

To get them in the ball you just point and say return.

[Again he does it, with Dummy going back into her ball.]

Easy really.
